Plant Knowledge

A plant nursery is a dedicated space where plants are grown, cared for, and nurtured until they are ready to be planted in gardens, landscapes, or homes.

At Q Gardens Cyprus, we operate with a strong focus on circular economy principles and environmental protection. Every stage of our work, from plant production and care to customer guidance and landscaping support, is designed to respect natural resources, reduce waste, and promote sustainable growing practices. Our plant nursery is a place of learning and seasonal beauty, where plants grow at their own rhythm.

A plant nursery is also commonly known as a garden center, plant center, or horticultural nursery. Q Gardens combines these roles, offering the variety found in specialised flower shops along with the expertise of professional gardening centres.

We provide plants, knowledge, and inspiration for a holistic gardening experience.

The three main types of nurseries are:

  • Production nurseries – focused on growing and propagating plants.
  • Retail nurseries – focused on selling plants directly to customers.
  • Wholesale nurseries – focused on supplying plants in larger quantities to professionals.

Q Gardens
operates as both a production and a retail nursery. We grow our own stock locally and supply plants across the island, serving wholesale and retail customers. This integrated approach ensures plant resilience and reliable availability for gardens, businesses, and Cyprus landscaping projects.

Cyprus’ Mediterranean climate is ideal for a wide variety of species, including Mediterranean shrubs, fruit trees, aromatic herbs, and drought-tolerant plants.

At Q Gardens, we are primary producers. Our plants are nurtured under the island’s real climatic conditions rather than being adapted later.

This process ensures excellent quality, stronger root systems, and higher resilience to heat and sunlight. By growing local varieties and signature plants in harmony with the environment, we help customers choose plants that truly thrive in Cyprus and perform well in the long term.

The national flower of Cyprus is the Cyclamen cyprium, a rare species that symbolises the island’s natural heritage.

At Q Gardens Cyprus, we produce our own cyclamen, carefully grown under local climatic conditions. Our cyclamen are known for their resilience and high quality, reflecting our commitment to sustainable production seen across flower shops.

The main plant categories include:

  • Trees and Fruit trees
  • Shrubs (including magnolias)
  • Herbs and Aromatic plants
  • Climbing plants
  • Succulents and desert plants
  • Annual and Perennial plants

At Q Gardens, you will find all these types, selected to thrive in the local climate. Our collection ranges from small seasonal plants to indoor varieties and shaped trees.
